Tomorrow, December 8th, students in grades 7-8 will take their benchmark tests in English and Math. Students in grades K-6 are also taking their benchmark tests throughout the next two weeks. Please make sure that Chromebooks are charged and ready to go (7-8). Teachers can use the scores from these benchmarks to inform instruction, personalize learning, and monitor the growth of individual students. Principals and administrators can use the scores to see the performance and progress of a grade level, school, or the entire district. #BetterTogether #FrontierPride

Thursday morning , Dec. 9, all students in grades 9-12 will take their middle of year benchmark. At FHS we utilize a practice ACT test for our benchmark to allow our students ample opportunities to take the test used for state assessment, scholarships, and college class placement. Please make sure students are well rested and their Chromebooks are charged and at school. Thank you! #BetterTogether #FrontierPride

The annual Community Christmas Celebration will be held December 18, 2021 from 1 pm - 3 pm at Frontier Public Schools. There will be a free community dinner, games, free gifts and prize drawings. Additional information is included in the attached flyer. #BetterTogether

DID YOU KNOW?
• By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of three signs that a student may drop out of high school.
• By 9th grade, attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Make school attendance a priority
• Talk about the importance of showing up to school every day.
• Help your children maintain daily routines, such as finishing homework and getting a good night’s sleep.
• Try not to schedule dental and non-Covid-19 related medical appointments during the school day.
• Keep your child healthy, and if you are concerned about Covid-19, call your school for advice.
• If your children must stay home because they are sick or in quarantine, make sure they have asked teachers for resources
and materials to make up for the missed learning time in the classroom.

Elementary art teacher Ms. Holly mcHughes is doing amazing things! This week the fifths and sixth grade students are working on paint pours and fading.

There will be a Homecoming Semi-Formal Dance on December 17, from 9:45 to 11:45, for students in grades 9-12. There is no charge, but we are asking that parents volunteer to bring snacks and drinks. If your student would like to bring an out-of-town guest, there are mandatory forms in the office; forms are due on December 14.

Join us Monday, December 13th for the Christmas music concert. Santa will be here from 4:30 to 6pm for pictures. The concert begins at 6pm.
(All performers need to be in place by 5:45.)

Tis' the season for coughs and colds. Here a few reminders to keep in mind regarding illness and the school policies.
Please do not send your child to school if they have a fever, have diarrhea or vomiting, have a cough with other symptoms such as a sore throat, or have other symptoms that are covid related.
Due to liability issues the nurse cannot diagnose illnesses or prescribe treatments. The school nurse will administer covid tests within the following time frames: 8:30 to 9:30 and 12:30 - 1:30.
Additionally, we must have a signed consent form from the parent on file before administering a covid test. If you have questions please call 580-723-4582 and ask for Nurse Whitney.

The elementary students are counting down the 12 school days before Christmas Break. Today was "We'll Have a Blue Christmas Without You" Day - wear blue. Tomorrow is "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" Day - wear white.

Help Your Child Succeed in School: School success goes hand in hand with being in school every day!
DID YOU KNOW? All families have hopes and dreams for their children. Being in school every day will enable children to do well in school, and graduate from high school ready for work or college.
WHAT CAN YOU DO? Reach out to a family member, a neighbor, or another parent if you are having trouble getting your student to school.
