STATE TESTING TIP OF THE DAY
2. Communicate with teachers
Regular communication with your child’s instructor can help you gain insight into his or her progress. Make a point of meeting or talking with your child’s teacher on an ongoing basis to understand what your child is working on, what he or she will be tested on, and the areas that he or she is excelling and struggling in. Your child’s teacher is also a great resource for test-preparation practice or strategies you can use with your child at home. Plus, they can keep you up to date on group study sessions or other opportunities for additional review that your child may benefit from.
Yearbook order forms are due on April 12th!
Frontier 5th graders practiced their math skills for mean, median, mode and graphing while also enjoying some beautiful spring weather. Students took turns jumping, measuring, recording, and graphing the jumps. What a fun way to learn! #BetterTogether
STATE TESTING TIP OF THE DAY:
1. Prioritize attendance and homework
Tests are ultimately intended to be a measure of how well students have learned the material being taught in class. With that in mind, what is the best (and most straightforward) piece of test-prep advice for caregivers is to do what you can to ensure that your child is fully engaged with his or her classwork throughout the year. Set aside dedicated homework time each night to make sure that your child is completing their assignments consistently throughout the year. It’s also a good idea to periodically reflect on your family routine, and make sure you and your student are keeping a schedule that gets them to class on time every day. If your student is absent for a day, or has to miss a class period, check in with them to make sure they can make up what they missed. #BETTERTOGETHER #ATTENDANCEMATTERS
Reminder: PreK enrollment will be this Wednesday, April 6th from 3:30 to 5:30. Please bring the child’s social security card, proof of residence, birth certificate, updated shot records, and CDIB card if applicable. Children must turn four by Sept 1st to be eligible to enroll. We look forward to meeting you!
ACT tomorrow for all 11th grade students. Please be on time with a charged Chromebook. Cell phones are not allowed in the testing room.
Please see the pictures below of the lost and found items in the elementary. Students can come by to claim them from the MP room wall. After this week, items will be donated.
We celebrated our March Mustang winners today! We would like to send a special congratulations to Xavier Harjo for being selected as our March student of the month. Congratulations to all of our track athletes for their performance at the Chisholm 6th-9th grade meet on Thursday. It was incredibly cold and windy, but they worked hard and competed well. #BetterTogether #FrontierPride
Dear Frontier school family:
This letter is to provide you with accurate information about an event that occurred on the high school campus yesterday. Please know that all students and staff are safe and were not in danger.
Our district occasionally has specially trained dogs and their handlers on campus to ensure the school is free of drugs, tobacco, and weapons. During a routine search with the dog yesterday, we discovered a firearm in a student vehicle.
Administrators immediately contacted representatives of the Noble County Sheriff’s Department, who conducted a thorough investigation and discovered the weapon was accidentally left in the vehicle by a parent after its legal use. The situation was an oversight and not a threat to the school. Because this is a private student issue, I am unable to share additional information.
Nothing is more important to Frontier Public Schools than the safety of our students and staff, and we are glad this incident did not place any member of our school family in danger. We ask families to please remember that no weapons – even look-alike weapons – are allowed on the school campus. Failure to follow this rule can result in significant legal and/or administrative consequences.
It is never easy to share concerning news about school events; however, I want you to know I will always communicate openly and transparently with our school family. When we work together, we can ensure we provide the best and safest educational experience for all students.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to call my office at 580-723-4543. Thank you for your support of Frontier Public Schools.
Sincerely,
Dale Bledsoe, Superintendent
Frontier Public Schools
The Lady Mustangs battled wind, freezing temperatures and over an hour of sleet and snow yesterday to edge out Manford in the Frontier Invitational at Pawnee Golf Course. Along with the 1st place team trophy they also brought home 2 of the 5 individual medals with Larissa Jefferson in 3rd place and BJ Childs in 4th. Larissa also won the long drive contest on hole 9 by over 75 yards.
All events with times can be found on our school app and our school website www.frontierok.com. Please use those for the most current information as events are subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen issues. Please contact the sponsors /coaches/teachers of any activities you may have questions about.

Yesterday, March 31, Frontier 3rd grade classes took a step back in time and experienced life as students in an 1899 one room school house at Pleasant Valley School.
Per state law, all students must take the National ACT plus writing at their school sites on state designated dates. Frontier High School Juniors will take their ACT on April 5. The test will begin promptly at 8:20. Late students will not be allowed to enter once testing has started. Students need to have their Chromebooks charged and ready to go. Questions can be sent to Mrs. Golay at kathy.golay@frontierok.com.
From Mrs. Ritthaler's 2nd Grade class: We love Mrs. Tresa Culp in our class!!! She had a new grandbaby, so we took the chance to work on our letter writing skills to say congratulations. This amazing lady took the time to write each and everyone of the kids back and answer all their questions. She has also been so wonderful to work with us on adopting a classroom grandma (Grandma Karen Culp) and has been willing to be our mailman back and forth. We appreciate the extra mile she goes for our kids and just wanted to share. #BetterTogether #FrontierPride
State Test Schedule:
Frontier Public Schools will begin state testing with the 11th graders on April 5 through April 22. Juniors must take the ACT, the CCRA Science assessment, and the CCRA US History assessment.
Students in grades 3-8 will begin their state tests on April 20. Use the following link to see which grades must complete which tests. Your child's teachers will share more details as our testing window draws closer.

Stillwater Medical Foundation's annual High School Fellowships application is now open. This program allows four high school students to spend six weeks exploring various medical professions. They shadow doctors, nurses, and a wide variety of allied health professionals. They observe surgeries, births, various clinical procedures, and visit both medical schools in Oklahoma (as well as some other educational and medical care facilities). Learn more about the program here: https://smc-foundation.org/education/high-school-fellowships/ A link to the application is on this page as well.
Saturday, March 26 our track teams competed at the Oologah track meet. Congratulations to all of our athletes who competed! #FrontierPride #BetterTogether
The fire alarms were activated due to low water pressure caused by a pump that went out over the weekend.. The issue has been resolved.
